After nearly four months alone at sea, Louis arrived last Saturday evening in the Marquesas (France), in Atuona on the island of Hiva Oa. He was welcomed by the locals to the sound of drums and adorned with flower necklaces. His parents, Karine and Jean-Richard, traveled from Colombier for the occasion.

In a short video posted on his Instagram account, the adventurer took the time to thank those supporting his project, in which he has already covered more than 40% of the total distance. In his honor, the island’s tourism office decided to name a rock after him.

Louis now plans to rest for several weeks before setting off again toward Indonesia to continue his rowing journey across the Pacific.
