The long-awaited moment has finally arrived! Last Sunday, September 3rd, at La Crique in Morges, an enthusiastic crowd of more than 300 people gathered to celebrate the launch of Human Impulse, Louis’ extraordinary journey around the world with human power.

After years of preparation, the day had finally come. The morning began with a delightful breakfast featuring croissants and coffee, creating a convivial atmosphere for all.

The speeches then commenced, with inspiring words delivered by prominent figures: Roberto Balzaretti, the Swiss Ambassador in France; Laetitia Morandi, Municipal Head of Sports in Morges; Philippe Jobin, Mayor of Echichens; Françoise Lamotte, Digital Director of TerreDesHommes; Joël Dumauthioz, Louis’ childhood friend; and, of course, Louis himself. He took the time to warmly thank everyone present for their support and shared his emotions regarding the adventure that lied before him.

Next, Louis and around thirty cyclists gathered in front of the grand departure sign. At precisely 10:35 AM, Louis embarked on his journey, closely followed by the group of cyclists, amidst applause and encouragement from an impressive crowd along the Parc de l’Indépendance. It was an unforgettable moment.

The first leg took them in the direction of Nyon, where the team bid farewell to Mr. Balzaretti. Then, it was off to Geneva, where Louis bid farewell to the peloton of cyclists, marking the end of this epic first day for Human Impulse.

The adventure will continue with the first leg to Portimao, Portugal, where Louis will be accompanied by three friends on bicycles. Join us in a few weeks in Portugal for the start of the second leg, the transatlantic ocean row!
