The Atlantic Phase Begins

14.10.23

Louis Margot’s maritime adventure has finally resumed on Monday, November 6.

As a reminder, Louis had made an initial attempt to set sail on October 9. Unfortunately, due to severe depressions unusual for the season, he faced challenging conditions at sea which led to the decision to return to shore, following the expert advice of his weather routing specialist, Christian Dumard.

After spending several weeks back on land in Portimão, the weather conditions have considerably improved. Following a new session with our router, a favorable weather window has opened up for him. Therefore, with renewed spirit and greater motivation than ever, Louis was able to set off with his faithful companion and vessel, Badadia, to take on the Atlantic.

Intense first days of effort, lasting from 9 to 11 hours, along with favorable northern winds, have allowed him to steer clear of the cargo routes. The nights are still challenging, but they turn into nighttime rowing sessions where he is fortunate to see several shooting stars.

With already 250 km covered, the course is set, and each day brings him a little closer to his next stop in the Canary Islands.

We invite you to follow this new phase of the journey. Your support is a continuous source of inspiration for Louis as he progresses towards his ultimate goal. So, stay connected through social media for live updates from Louis !
